Austin Sketch Fest: Stockton, The Storefront, Hosted by Micheal Foulk
STOCKTON (NYC) Characters, premises, assists, point guarding – Stockton does is all while being hilarious, silly, sometimes sad and always really hard to google. A house sketch team from the Magnet Theater that writes and performs a new show every three weeks. Occasionally they take the best of the best from those shows and make a dream team of sketches, which they then tour around the country, bounce pass! THE STOREFRONT (CHI) "The Storefront Gets Festy" is a fast paced, explosive sketch show consisting of some of our favorite sketches performed throughout Chicago in our first year as an underground comedy theatre / co-op. Starting in an abandoned storefront and branching out into premier Chicago theaters, we became known to be like a “pick up basketball game of comedy” - hosting, featuring, and working with a variety of troupes and individuals throughout Chicago. We began developing unique shows and reviews in house such as our sketch review "Storefront Gets Sketchy", full-length shows of only blackouts, and our unique writing competition "Writer's Block" HOSTED BY Micheal Foulk Micheal Foulk has been performing comedy out of Austin Texas since 2011. He's significantly gay (it's not going to wash out in 2 or 3 days) and he tries to remain aggressively unapologetic about who he is. It's hard sometimes. Micheal served as the artistic director of The New Movement ATX theater for 2015/2016 and continues to teach sketch and improv classes when he has time. Foulk has produced over 50 sketch shows with group Bad Example (2014-2016) and continues to perform regularly with his comedy partner Vanessa Gonzalez as the duo HANDBOMB.
